Student of the month interview


How do you feel about being student of the month?
Very happy and excited.
What have you accomplished that got you to be student of the month?
Get good grades.

Yes. they're very excited for me.
What advice can you give to students who'd like to become student of the month?
Get good grades.
 Do you think since you are student of the month, other students will look up to you?
Maybe.
Are you proud of yourself?
Very proud.
Who helped you become student of the month?
My sister.
What have these people done to help you become student of the month?
Help me understand my homework.
Does being Student of the month affect your confidence in any way?
No.
How long have you wanted to be student of the month?
I don't know.
Do you get any award for being student of the month?
Achieving the title is already the award itself.
Are you involved in any after school activities?
Yes. I regularly attend the Akinscare's meeting every week and I am the vice president of StuCo.
Do you have good grades?
Yes.
Is your family proud of your success?
No.
What have you learned from being student of the month?
Nothing.
What encouraged you to want to be student of the month?
Nothing.
Do you try your hardest in school?
Yes. I try to be successful in school and in life.
Do you believe that all your hard work pays off?
Yes. 
Why is being student of the month an honor to you?
It shows that all my hard work has paid off and that somebody appreciated my hard work.
How can you encourage other students who don't work hard?
To tell them that hard work always pays off eventually.

Newspaper Design Notes

broad sheet: tall and narrow.
tabloid: broad sheet on it's side. short. half the size of a broad sheet.
teaser: you want to put the most important story above the fold.
flag: the very top of the newspaper, with a teaser.
folio: has reference information. (school, slogan, location, website, date)
front page elements: flag, photos, headlines, stories, lines (that separate stories)
teasers preview stories on the inside of the newspaper.
byline: name and title/position.
jump: shows you where to find the rest of the story. (page #, jump word)
info graphic: provides information in a graphic form. ~ex: stat boxes (pie charts, bar graphs)
volume: how many years newspaper has been out (ex: vol. 12)

Front Pages of the World

1. My favorite newspaper front page is New York. I favor it because it talks about some stories that I would be interested in.
2. "Couples Future cut down in Prime". I'm interested in it because it's a story that grabs my attention.
3. There are about 4 stories on the front page.
4. All newspapers have a main story. Also the newspapers have a large picture than the others. They have flags.
5. Some photos are tabloids and are shorter than others. Designs such as photo size may also vary.
